#Throwback to Dr Chef Sakirat @dr.chef_sakirat at @Umamiarena last March with Norway's Sustainable Seaweed Association and Lofoten Seafood (@lofotenseaweed).๐๐
Lofoten Seaweed is a company founded on the firm belief the future of food lies in the #ocean. The mission to provide ...#nutritious food from the ocean in a sustainable way resonated with Dr. Chef Sakirat Waraich 3 years ago, and they have been working together ever since.
Chef Sakirat live showcased her Salmon Seaweed Tartar Chaat and got to have some amazing conversations around the use of #seaweed as a versatile, #sustainable ingredient ๐
Great to see Chef Sakirat championing diverse ingredients at the Umami Arena, but also at her restaurant @nila.norway, where she uses different seaweeds in her menu helping to create awareness and understanding among people eating at restaurant. #goodfood4all

One of our #ChefsManifesto reading recommendations is the The Seaweed Revolution by Vincent Doumeizel @theseaweedrevolution๐
Did you know ๐ "Seaweed could feed human beings, reduce plastic pollution, absorb enough carbon to cool the atmosphere, reconstruct generative ecosystems,... treat certain illnesses that are incurable today, replace land livestock farming that exhausts the environment, and give jobs to coastal populations.
The seaweed revolution is a hope for tomorrow!" ๐

Beans are one of the epitome's of ingredients grown with respect for the earth and its oceans. This is due to the minimal water needed needed to grow them.
They also take nitrogen out of the atmosphere where it can cause damage, and put it back into the soil to keep it healthy! This ...can help farmers reduce the amount of fertilizer they use. ๐ซ๐ซ
