On the eve of International Youth Day 2020, the SDG2 Advocacy Hub hosted a webinar 'Good Food For All - A Conversation with Youth Leaders'. Four inspiring Global Youth Leaders, all championing a better food future through their work in nutrition, agriculture, climate change and medicine, discussed the role of youth in transforming food systems and ensuring Good Food For All, building up to the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit.
Dr Agnes Kalibata, 2021 UNFSS Special Envoy, and Dr Kanayo F. Nwanze, CGIAR Special Representative to UNFSS, encouraged youths to work together, grow your networks and make your voices heard.
Whether your passion is Nutrition, Agriculture, Climate Change, Medicine, something else or all of these areas; if you want to be a part of the global youth movement championing a better future, below are a handful of existing networks which are always looking to grow and invite motivated individuals.
The Youth Leaders for Nutrition programme was launched in 2018 by the SUN Civil Society Network, in partnership with Save the Children UK, RESULTS UK, and Global Citizen.
The programme aims to empower young people, primarily those from countries with high rates of malnutrition, with the skills they need to advocate for an end to malnutrition in their own communities and globally.
Since 2018, the programme has supported 13 Youth Leaders to engage in high-level events and forums all over the world, including the UN General Assembly, SUN Global Gathering, IFAD, and more. In addition, the Youth Leaders are creating change in their communities through education and awareness-raising programmes.
If you would like to know more about the Youth Leaders for Nutrition programme, or if you have an opportunity for the Youth Leaders to contribute to, the SCN CSN would love to hear from you! Get in touch using this contact form.
